Potentially interesting new blog

I'm fully aware of the whiff of pedantry inherent in that "potentially," but when the blog in question is hosted on tumblr, is called "flat grey marked suspended pole holds tree," and it features images like this:

, i pray the forgiving reader will sympathize with my concerns. Now, as to the positive implications of the term, we have an intriguing format of audio, drawings, pictures of food, and a short video, from three interesting London musicians: Paul Abbott, Benedict Drew & Seymour Wright. Stay tuned to see where it's going. Or enjoy a really close-up image of some cheese.

Curtis Roads

A nice short interview with Computer Music and Granular Synthesis pioneer Curtis Roads. If you're not familiar with his work I highly recommend checking out his "Point Line Cloud" CD/DVD on Asphodel. Also, if any readers out there are interested in the subject of Computer Music and more specifically "Microsound", Roads' has written two amazing books on the subject, "Computer Music Tutorial" and "Microsound". Both books are available from MIT Press.

Sons of God perform a Philadelphia Miracle 5/14

We are very excited to be hosting a show for Sweden's Sons of God this coming Thursday at the International House. This will be their only other show before playing the sold out No Fun Fest in NYC.

The Sons of God (Guds söner) are the collaborative efforts of Leif Elggren and Kent Tankred. Formed in 1985, their work uses both image and sound incorporating live electronics, electro-acoustic music and performance art. They have performed in a variety of contexts in Holland, Germany, Austria, Yugoslavia, France, Italy and Japan. This show will be rare chance to see them in the US so don't miss out.
