Tim Feeney and Vic Rawlings on the teevee!

Two of our good friends, percussionist Tim Feeney and cello/electronicist Vic Rawlings, were recently featured - somewhat bizarrely - on the local news in San Francisco (ABC affiliate KGO-TV, if you must know). Enjoy this amusing, brief, and clearly highly-edited piece:

"Noise and Capitalism"

This new book is now available. Edited by our friend Mattin and Anthony Iles, "Noise & Capitalism is a tool for understanding the situation we are living through, the way our practices and our subjectivities are determined by capitalism. It explores contemporary alienation in order to discover whether the practices of improvisation and noise contain or can produce emancipatory moments and how these practices point towards social relations which can extend these moments."

Contributors: Ray Brassier, Emma Hedditch, Matthew Hyland, Anthony Iles, Sara Kaaman, Mattin, Nina Power, Edwin Prévost, Bruce Russell, Matthieu Saladin, Howard Slater, Csaba Toth, Ben Watson.

More info on Mattin's site. Note that free copies are available in both PDF and hard format.

"If you wish to receive a printed copy of this book please write or send an email with your postal address submitting your own feelings about or responses to the words 'Capitalism' and 'Noise'. Any letters, comments, criticisms, records, CDs or contributions in other media related to this book, will be gratefully received in exchange. Post: Arteleku, Kristobaldegi 14 (o nuevo P. Brent Gutzeit Archive

Tons and tons of audio and video from this great musician/improviser/composer/yuckster/TV POW, etc. member. For those that love ultra-high frequencies, field recordings, and deadpan Midwestern humor. Lots of solo material, TV POW, and various other projects.

Can't embed audio here, but I like this and this and this.
