New BSC album costs NO dollars

Our friends the BSC have a new album available, for digital download only (lossless or mp3).  In a slightly odd arrangement, you must "tweet" an announcement about the album to unlock the download, though no further price is charged.  If you don't have a Twitter account, you can create one and then delete it, as I did.  I also made a small donation.  Check it out here.

EDIT - you can also get this even without a Twitter account if you have a Facebook account.  You must "like" it here or here.

The BSC is a large improvising ensemble from Boston, led by Bhob Rainey and made up of members of Nmperign and other leading lights of the Boston (and Western Mass) improvised music community, including acoustic and electronic instruments, and voice.

Greg Kelley Interview

Great, informal ("But, say, the average girl in the street that you meet wouldn't have heard of you.") interview with our friend and ace-trumpeter and other-stuffer (mostly electronics) Greg Kelley over at All About Jazz, wherein he talks about George Crumb, how improvising is like shoveling snow, bugs' eyes, and more. A number of audio clips of Greg can be heard over at the Mimaroglu site

The Sealed Knot

. .  . , the trio of Burkhard Beins, Mark Wastell, and Rhodri Davies,  has contributed an insightful and thoughtful discussion to one of the always-interesting "roundtable" features over at Point of Departure.  See some great videos of "the Knot" here and here.  I'm remiss in still not having acquired their new CD, but some info and audio is here.
